Assignment 1 Definition of test, measurement, assessment, evaluation, informal and formal assessment, and formative and summative assessment. Test: Test is defined as a method of measuring a person’s ability knowledge, or performance in a given domain (Brown 2004:3). Test is defined as a systematic procedure for observing a person’s behavior and describing it with the aid of a numerical scale or category system (Azwar 2005). Measurement: Measurement is defined as process that produces a picture in the form of numbers based on the observation results regarding several characteristics of an object,person or even (Hopkins and Antes 1990). Measurement is defined as a process that describes student performance by using a quantitative scale (number system) in such a way that the qualitative nature of the student’s performance is expressed by numbers (Alwasilah et al.1996). Assessment:  (Huba and Freed 2000) defines assessment as the process of gathering and discussing inf
